People have been fermenting for years as a way to preserve food and enhance flavors. Here, we pay tribute to our friends, the bacteria, and the wonderfulness of bread, beer, cheese, and chocolate, (and the nutritional benefits of) kimchi, kefir, sauerkraut, and kombucha. Sour Solstice is a place to capture and share the bacterial goodness of fermented foods, and explore how they are made and how we can use them creatively and deliciously. As the summer solstice is the longest day of summer, we like to think of fermented foods as the peak or epitome of taste and nutrition!
